Pie, Anyone?

A group of Yorkshire writers, me included, will be selling at a Book Fair on November 2nd, to be held in the Pie Hall (great name!) in Denby Dale. It's on Wakefield Road, Denby Dale, HD8 8RX. The Fair runs from 12.30 until 4.00, and there’ll be some fabulous book bargains for Christmas.

My wife, Sally, will be there too with a selection of her amazing original drawings of ancient trees. More about those in November.

Denby Dale is famous for it’s gigantic pies, which have been made to celebrate special occasions since the 1700s. The one made for the Millenium was a staggering 40ft long by 9ft wide by 3ft deep and weighed in at an incredible 12 tons! It served 22,000 people and made it into the Guinness Book of Records.

There may not be pies at the Book Fair, but there'll be lots of other good stuff instead.
